- Thursday, September 7, 2023 UNIT 1: WHAT’S YOUR ADDRESS? Lesson 1: (1, 2, 3) I. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. identify the situations for the conversations between Mai, Nam and Trung (setting, participants, topics);(cognition) 2. ask and answer about someone’s address, using What’s your address?- It’s . (skills) 3. show great pride in the place of living and great respect for other’s place of living by using appropriate gestures and intonation when asking and answering about their addresses. (attribute) II. LANGUAGE FOCUS. 1. Key terms. Address, lane, tower,flat, village road, Hai Ba Trung Street, 2. Key grammatical structure The sentence patterns: What’s your address?- It’s . III. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES. - Textbook: Tiếng Anh 5: Student’s book page 6 - Audios (Unit 1-page 6), - Situational pictures and activity pictures (Activity 2 – page 6) - a laptop and a TV. IV. LEARNING EXPERIENCES Warm-up: - Chatting and greeting together Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat * Vocabulary: address, flat, stress, tower, village, road - T follows the steps of presenting new words. - Set the scence: Ask Ss to look at the pictures and answer the questions: Who are they? (Mai, Nam, Trung) Where are they? ( At school) What are they doing?( talking about their address) * Dialogue: - T shows the pictures on the bb and play the CD - Ss look and repeat the dialogues 3 times - T calls on some Ss to read - Ss work in pairs in 2 minutes to practice - Some pairs read aloud - T corrects pronunciation - Elicit new pattern. What’s your address? It’s . Activity 2: Point and say - Use pictures to elicit:105, Hoa Binh Lane; 97, village road; 75, Hai Ba Trung street; flat18, second floor, City Tower
- - T introduces the picture cues and guides Ss how to ask and answer using the cues - Ss work in pairs to practice - Get feedback - Remind Ss to remember to use appropriate gestures and intonation in asking and anwering - T ask some pairs to read aloud Activity 3: Let’s talk - Have students to work in groups of 4, asking and answering about their addresses. - Ask students to complete the table below while interviewing their friends. - Remind students to use the following questions to interview their friends 1. Where are you from?- I’m from ( country/ city) 2. What’s your address?- It’s 3. Where do you live?- I live in/at/on .. Name Country address Where you live 1 2 3 4 - Call on some students from groups to report their friends’ addresses - Give constructive feedback and comments on the reports and correct Ss’ mistakes if necessary. Activity 4: Wrap-up & Assignments - Ask students to answer the following questions: 1. What have you learnt from the lesson today?
