  1. Tuesday, January 30, 2023 UNIT 12. DON’T RIDE YOUR BIKE TOO FAST! Lesson 3: Parts 1, 2, 3 I. OBJECTIVES • say the sentences with the correct intonation. 1. Don’t play with the knife. ̶ OK, I won’t. 2. Don’t play with the matches. ̶ OK, I won’t. 3. Why shouldn’t I play with the knife? ̶ Because you may cut yourself. 4. Why shouldn’t I play with the stove? ̶ Because you may get a burn. • listen and circle the letters showing the correct words filling the gapped sentences. • say the chant Why shouldn’t he do that? • Ss show their respect for others by using appropriate gestures and intonation when asking and answering about accident prevention II. Divide the class into two halves to take turns role playing the conversations in Activity 5, Lesson 2. Phonic practice 1. Listen and repeat. • Present the activity. Stick / Write the sentences on the board for Ss to read. Tell Ss to read the sentences and pay attention to the blue arrows indicating the intonation. • Play Track 19 for Ss to listen. • Play it again for Ss to repeat each sentence twice. Phonic checking 2. Listen and circle a or b. Then say the sentences aloud. (8’) • Present the activity. Tell Ss to read each incomplete sentence and guess the correct word / phrase to complete it. • Play Track 20 for Ss to do the task. • Check answers as a class. • Get the class to read the sentences aloud. Key: 1 a 2 a 3 b 4 b Chant practice 3. Let’s chant. (15’) • Present the chant Why shouldn’t he do that? Tell Ss to read the chant in silence. Check comprehension and give feedback. • Play Track 21 for Ss to listen and repeat twice.
  2. • Mime the chant. • Get Ss to practise saying and miming the chant in groups. • Get two groups to perform the chant. 4. Wrap-up & Assignments - Ask students to answer the following questions: 1. What have you learnt from the lesson today? (say the sentences with the correct intonation) 2. What are the core values of the lesson? (Ss show their respect for others by using appropriate gestures and intonation when asking and answering about accident prevention) - Remind students to do part 4,5,6 in students book page 16. - Check the project progress. Parts 4 , 5, 6 I.OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, pls will be able to: ask and answer questions about free time activities in the past Pupils know how to love their childhood. II. LANGUAGE FOCUS * Sentence patterns: A: What did you do in ___? B: First, I _____. Then I ___ . * Vocabulary: star fruit, resort, cable car, palace, go sightseeing, go camping, go skating III. TEACHING AIDS: 1.Teacher: poster, flashcards 2.Pupils: Mini-boards, Student’s book, IV. First, we visited Doc Cuoc Pagoda. Then we went swimming. Finally, We went to the market and bought many souvenirs. It was a great holiday. 5. Fun time: Read the story and answer the questions. Then retell the story. - Gét Ps to open their ST’s book on page 19. observe the picture, read the story and the questions. Check P’s comprehension of the texts. - Ask Ps to work in pairs: one ask and the other answers the questions. - Have Ps check their answers in pairs before calling some individual Ps to say the answers to the class. - ask a few Ps to read out their answers. - Explain the meaning of the proverb If necessary. *Reinforcement. - Do the fun time on page19 *Homelink : correct the writing task at home if necessary.

OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. identify the situations for the conversations between Tom and Nam (setting, participants, topics);(cognition) 2. ask and answer questions about free-time activities, using What do you do in your free time?- I often + V __________ . 3. Ss show their respect for others by using appropriate gestures and intonation when asking and answering about their free-time activities (attribute) II. LANGUAGE FOCUS. LEARNING EXPERIENCES * Warm up: play bingo game. - The class play Bingo game with phrases such as: play badminton, play chess, go fishing... then get to make the sentences with the phrases in game. 1. Look, listen and repeat. - Ss look at the pictures to identify the characters (Tom and Nam) and the context in the book guess what the story is about and point at each picture to elicit their answers to these questions. - T play the recording - Ss listen follow in their book. - Ss listen and repeat in chorus two times. - Read in group/ pair: One repeats Tom’s part, the other repeats Nam’part. - Ss give new structure sentence: What do you do in your free time? – I .... 2. OBJECTIVES: By the end of this unit pupils can - Use the words and phrases related to the topics Free time activities. Ask and answer questions about What someone does in his/her free time, using What do you do in your free time? – I .... - Develop Ss speaking and listening skills. - Ss look after , solve problems and study themselves. - Studious and obedient students and love their hometown, family and friends. II. LANGUAGES FOCUS: - Sentence Pattners: What do you do in your free time? – I .... - Vocabulary: free time, karate, surf the internet, clean,.... III. TEACHING AIDS: 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette. 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. IV.PROCEDURE: * Warm up: play bingo game. - The class play Bingo game with phrases such as: play badminton, play chess, go fishing... then get to make the sentences with the phrases in game. 3. Listen and tick. - Ask Ss to look at the pictures and identify the activity in each picture: ( T points to each picture and asks) - Listen and tick .
