  1. Tuesday, April 23, 2024 UNIT 18: WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE TOMORROW? Lesson 2: 4, 5, 6 I. OBJECTIVES - By the end of this unit, pupils can use the words and phrases related to the topic Weather and seasons. - Pupils can ask and answer questions about the seasons. - Pupils can develop listening and reading skills. II. LANGUAGE FOCUS. 1. Key terms 2. Key grammatical structures III. PROCEDURES *Warm up: Spend a few minutes revising the previous lesson. 4. Listen and write one word in each blank - Playing the recording all the way through for pupils to listen. - Play it again for them to do the task. - Get them to compare their answers. - Play the recording again to confirm the answers. Key: 1. wind 2. winter 3. snow 4. hot 5. rain 5. Write about your favourite season and the weather - Have pupils read the questions and check their understanding. - Set a time limit for them to do the task. - Get them to swap and read their writing. - Invite one or two pupils to read their answers aloud and give feedback. 6. Let’s sing - Have pupils read the lyrics and teach the unfamiliar words. - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen. - Play it again for pupils to repeat line by line. - Have pupils practice singing and doing action in groups. - Invite a group to sing the song and do actions.
  2. Tuesday, April 23, 2024 UNIT 18: WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE TOMORROW? Lesson 3: 1, 2, 3 I. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to pronounce correctly the intonation in the sentences and review what they have learned in Unit 18 Lesson 1&2 II. LANGUAGE CONTENTS: - Pronunciation: Intonation What will the weather be like tomorrow? - It will be hot and sunny. What’s spring like in your country? - It’s usually cool and windy. What’s summer like in your country? - It’s usually hot and sunny. What’s autumn like in your country? - It’s usually cool and foggy. III. RESOURCES: Recording, cassette, poster, teacher’s book, student’s book IV. PROCEDURE: 1. Warm-up - T have Ps listen and sing the song The weather song 2. Listen and repeat. - T writes the words and sentences on the board. - T guides Ps to pronounce intonation in the sentences. - T says the sentences a few times. - Ps repeat chorally. - T plays the recording. - Ps say the sentences chorally then individually. 3. Listen and circle a or b. Then ask and answer. - T plays the recording two times. - Ss listen and circle a or b. - T checks as a class and asks Ps to read the sentences aloud. - Ps work in pairs to practise asking and answering. 4. Let’s chant. What will the weather be like tomorrow? - T sticks the poster of the chant on the board. - T have Ps read the chant and check comprehension. - T plays the recording a few times. - Ps listen and repeat. - T guides Ps to do actions. - Ps practise chanting and doing actions in groups of four. - T calls two groups act out in front of the class. 5. Consolidation - T give comments about the lesson.

OBJECTIVES - By the end of this unit, pupils can use the words and phrases related to the topic Weather and seasons. - Pupils can ask and answer questions about the seasons. - Pupils can develop reading and writing skills. II. PROCEDURES *Warm up: Spend a few minutes revising the chant What will the weather be like tomorrow? 4. Read and do the tasks a. Complete the passage. - Explain the verb last. - Set a time limit for pupils to do the task. - Get pupils to compare their answers. Key: 1 south 2 November 3 picnic 4 season 5 wind b. Answer the questions. - Give pupils a few seconds to read the question and underline the key words. - Set a time limit for pupils to do the task independently. - Get pupils to compare their answers. Key: 1. There are two 2. They’re the dry season and the rainy season 3. It’s usually cool and dry 4. It’s usually hot and wet 5. Because he can go for a picnic with his friends. 5. Write about the seasons and weather. - Have pupils read the gapped sentences. - Set a time limit for them to do the task independently. - Get them to swap and read their writing in pairs. - Invite two or three pupils to read their answers aloud. 6. Project - Ask pupils to copy the table below and choose two places in Viet Nam to complete it.   4. Friday, April 26, 2024 UNIT 19: WHICH PLACE WOULD YOU LIKE TO VISIT? Lesson 1: 1, 2, 3 I. OBJECTIVES: - By the end of this unit, pupils can use the words and phrases related to the topics Places to visit and Opinions on places. Students will be able to ask and answer questions about which place would someone like to visit. II. LANGUAGE CONTENTS: + Vocabulary: visit, place, museum, pagoda, bridge, temple + Sentence patterns: Which place would you like to visit, .. or .? I’d like to visit III. RESOURCES: Recording, cassette, flashcards, pictures, teacher’s book, student’s book. IV. PROCEDURE: 1. Warm-up. - T have Ss play the game Slap the board (words of places) 2. Look, listen and repeat. - T points the pictures a, b, c and d to identify the characters and what they say. - T have pupils listen and repeat the text in the bubbles a few times. - Ss repeat chorally and individually. - T asks Ss to read the text in pairs/ groups. 3. Point and say. - T presents new words: visit, place, museum, pagoda, bridge, temple - T presents the sentence patterns: is used to ask and answer questions about which place would soemone like to visit. * Sentence pattern: Which place would you like to visit, Trang Tien Bridge or Thien Mu pagoda? I’d like to visit Thien Mu Pagoda. - T points to the pictures and elecits the words and phares to fill in the gaps. - Pupils repeat the sentences a few times. - Pupils work in pairs to say the sentences. - Some pairs practice in front of the class. - T checks their pronunciation. 4. Let’s talk - T tells the class that they are going to practise with their friends: ask and asnwer questions about the places you would like to visit. - T writes the sentences on the board. Which place would you like to visit, or ? - I’d like to visit .. Is it far from here? - Yes/ No .
  5. How can I get there? - you can . - Pupils repeat the sentences. - Pupils work in pairs to ask and answer about food and drink. - T calls some pairs to act out in front of the class. 5. Consolidation. - T consolidates the lesson.
