  1. Tuesday, May 7, 2024 UNIT 19: WHICH PLACE WOULD YOU LIKE TO VISIT? Lesson 2: 1, 2, 3 I. OBJECTIVES: - By the end of this unit, pupils can use the words and phrases related to the topics Places to visit and Opinions on places. - Students will be able to ask and answer the questions about somone’s opinion about a place. II. LANGUAGE CONTENTS: + Vocabulary: interesting, exciting, attractive, expected, beautiful + Sentence patterns: What do you think of ? It’s more .. than I expected. III. RESOURCES: Recording, cassette, pictures, teacher’s book, student’s book. IV. PROCEDURE: 1. Warm-up. - I guides Ss to play the game Slap the board. 2. Look, listen and repeat. - T points the pictures a, b, c and d to identify the characters and what they say. - T have pupils listen and repeat the text in the bubbles a few times. - Ss repeat chorally and individually. - T asks Ss to read the text in pairs/ groups. 3. Point and say. - T presents new words: interesting, exciting, attractive, expected, beautiful - T presents the sentence patterns: is used to ask and answer questions about somone’s opinion about a place. * Sentence pattern: What do you think of ? It’s more .. than I expected. E.g: What do you think of Ha Long Bay? It’s more atractive than I expected. - T points to the pictures and elecits the words and phrases to fill in the gaps. - Pupils repeat the sentences a few times. - Pupils work in pairs to say the sentences. - Some pairs practice in front of the class. - T checks their pronunciation. 4. Let’s talk. - T tells the class that they are going to practise with their friends: ask and answer questions about what you think of a palce. - T writes the sentences on the board. Where did you go? - I went to What do you think of ?

What do you think of Dam Sen Park? -It’s more interesting than I expected. - Pupils repeat the sentences. - Pupils work in pairs to ask and answer. - T calls some pairs to act out in front of the class. 5. Consolidation. - T consolidates the lesson. Tuesday, May 7, 2024 UNIT 19: WHICH PLACE WOULD YOU LIKE TO VISIT? Lesson 2 ( 4, 5, 6) I. OBJECTIVES. After the lesson, Ss will be able to ask and answer questions about Places to visit and Opinions on places. II. LANGUAGE FOCUS. - Vocabulary: exciting, beautiful, interesting, attractive. - Structure: - Tom thinks .... is more ... than he expected. III. TEACHING AIDS. Books, teachers’ book, notebooks, cards and cassette. IV. PROCEDURES. Warm up. - Revising the previous lesson by inviting some pairs to act out the dialogue in Activity 1 in front of the class NEW LESSON 4. Listen and circle a or b -Tell Students that they are going to listen to the recording and circle a or b -Play the recording for Students to listen
  3. -Ask Students to listen again and do the task -Ask Students to give answers -Play the recording again for Students to listen and check -Give correct answers 1.b 2.b 3.a 5. Read and complete -Tell the class that they are going read and complete the conversation between Nam and Tom. -Have Ss read the words given individually and the incomplete conversation. -Set a time limit for Students to do the task independently -Monitor the activity and offer help,if necessary - Get them to swap and compare their answers before checking as a class. If there is enough time, have the class read the completed conversation aloud. Keys: 1. Can Tho 2. exciting 3. delicious 4.friendly 5.again 6.Let`s play - Tell the class that they are going to play game : Tic-tac-toe - Put a tic-tac-toe grid on the board. Write an incomplete sentence in each of the boxes. (For example: What do you think....? The pagoda is more ....). - Set a time limit for the class to play the game in pair. - Ask Ss have to complete the sentence in order to mark a box with an X or O. When time is over, invite a few Ss to read their sentences aloud and put them on the board. D. Consolidation. - Have Ss practise new sentence again at home

OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to pronounce correctly the intonation in the sentences and review what they have learned in Unit 19 lesson 1&2 II. LANGUAGE CONTENTS: - Pronunciation: Intonation 1. Which place would you like to visit, Trang Tien Bridge or Thien Mu Pagoda? 2. I’d like to visit Thien Mu Pagoda. 3. What do you think of Thien Mu Pagoda? 4. It’s more beautiful than I expected. III. RESOURCES: Recording, cassette, poster, teacher’s book, student’s book Procedure: 1. Warm-up - T have Ps listen and sing the song Which place would you like to visit? 2. Listen and repeat. - T writes the words annd sentences on the board. 1. Which place would you like to visit, Trang Tien Bridge or Thien Mu Pagoda? 2. I’d like to visit Thien Mu Pagoda. 3. What do you think of Thien Mu Pagoda? 4. It’s more beautiful than I expected. - T guides Ps to pronounce intonation in the sentences. - T says the sentences a few times. - Ps repeat chorally. - T plays the recording. - Ps say the sentences chorally then individually. . Listen and mark the sentence intonation. Then say the sentences aloud. - T plays the recording two times. - Ss listen and mark the sentence intonation. - T checks as a class and asks Ps to read the sentences aloud. - Ps work in pairs to practise asking and answering. 4. Let’s chant. What do you think of it? - T sticks the poster of the chant on the board. - T have Ps read the chant and check comprehension. - T plays the recroding a few times. - Ps listen and repeat. - T guides Ps to do actions. - Ps practise chanting and doing actions in groups of four. - T calls two groups act out in front of the class.
  5. 5. Consolidation - T give comments about the lesson. Thursday, May 9, 2024 UNIT 19: WHICH PLACE WOULD YOU LIKE TO VISIT? Lesson 3: 4-6 I. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to - read the passage, and do the tasks: - a. Complete the passage. b. Answer the questions. - write about their last summer holiday, using the guiding questions. - find a picture of their favourite place. Show it to the class and talk about it. II. TEACHING AIDS Student’s book, p. 63 III. PROCEDURES Warm up (5’) Greet Ss. Have the class say the chant What do you think of it? / Invite two groups to say and mime the chant. Production 4. Read and do the tasks. (8’) a. Complete the passage. - Present the activity. Tell Ss to read the passage, pay attention to the word order and the context. - Set time for Ss to do the task. - Check answers as a class. Key: 1 Pagoda 2 centre 3 beautiful 4 a lot of 5 friends b. Answer the questions. - Present the activity. My name’s (presenter’s name ̶ holds up the picture, and points at the relevant information when talking). This is the picture of my favourite place. It’s (place name). I spent my last summer holiday there. I like it very much because (reasons). I think I will go there again someday. That’s the end of my presentation. Thank you very much for your listening. - Invite a few Ss to show pictures and talk about their last summer holidays. - Get the class to display the pictures of their last summer holidays, and keep them in the portfolios.
