- Tuesday, October 17, 2023 UNIT 4: DID YOU GO TO THE PARTY? Lesson 3: ( 1, 2, 3) I. Objectives: After the lesson, students are able to: - Pronounce correctly the word stress ‘party, ‘sunday, en’joyed, in’vite - Develop listening, reading, writing skills. II. Language contents: - Vocabulary: revision III. Teaching aids: 1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, cassette, Part’s flash cards of the day. 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. IV. Procedures: 1. Warm up - Sing a song 2. Listen and repeat. - Play the CD and have Ps repeat each line of the chant. Then change the role. -Introduce the word stress ‘party, ‘sunday, en’joyed, in’vite -Have Ps practice the sounds carefully -Play the CD and have Ps read : 3. Make the word stress. Then say the sentences aloud. - Have pupils look at the word and make the word stress - Have pupils to write on the boad the word. - Check and correct. 4. Let’s chant. - Introduce the Chant - Ps listen to the tape and chant - Ps chant in group and individual. - Ps chant and do the action. - Work in pairs. Read the questions and answers in pairs -Teacher reinforce their pronunciation 5. Conclusion and homework - Ask Ss to do exercises in (p 4,5, 7/WB) at home

OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson SS will be able to: - identify specific information through listening to 3 conversations: - write sentences about their birthday party: - do a project about their birthday. - show great pride of their days of birth when talking about their birthday party B. LANGUAGE FOCUS. 1. Key terms 2. Key grammatical structures The sentence patterns: When was your birthday?- It was .; What did you do? C. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES. - Textbook: Tiếng Anh 5: Student’s book page 29 - Audio track: Unit 4- Lesson 1, activity 4 page 25 - Computer & TV D. LEARNING EXPERIENCES 1. Warm-up: - Do the chant : When was your birthday? 4. Listen and tick Yes (Y) or No (No). (8’) - Present the activity. Tell Ss to read each question, and pay attention to the character’s name and the place. - Play Track 34 for Ss to do the task, and check their answers. - Check answers as a class. - Divide the class into two halves to take turns asking and answering the questions. Key: 1 N 2 Y 3 N Answer key: 1. It was last Sunday. 2. Some of his classmates went to the party 3. He played the guitar. 4. She played the piano. 3. Write about your birthday party: 1. When was your last birthday party? 2. Who went to the party? 3. What did you and your friends do at the party? - T explains the task and gives some clues - Ss work individually to write about their birthday party - T goes round for help - 2 Ss write on the board - T and other Ss give comments

OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: - Use the words and phrases related to the topic Future activities; - Ask and answer questions about where someone will be; - Show their honesty when talking about their future activities by using appropriate and meaningful gestures; B. LANGUAGE FOCUS. 1. Key terms: - in the countryside - on the beach - by the sea - at school - at home 2. Key grammatical structures The sentence patterns: Where will you be ? I think I’ll be C. - 1. Look, listen and repeat: page 18 - Asking the students open the book page 30 - Focus their attention on the title of the unit, pictures and the texts. - Get pupils to read the title of the unit and elicit their answers such as: Who are they? Where are they? What are they talking about? Then ask pupils to discuss what is happening in each picture. - Read each line in the pictures and check pupils’ comprehension at times. - Using English and Vietnamese when necessary. - Teach the new words: in the countryside - on the beach - by the sea - Write the new vocabulary on the board and get pupils to say the words a few times. * Make sure that pupils can understand the situation and language. Play the recording twice: once for pupils to listen all the way through and once for them repeat. Pause after each line for them to repeat a few times. * Divide the class into groups to take turns to say the lines from picture a and b. 2. Point and say: - Asking student elicit the model sentence in the dialogue. - Run pictures - Asking the student look at the members in the picture - Elicit their prompts to complete the text in the speech bubbles. - Write the model sentence on the board and get pupils repeat the lines a few times in turn. * Model the task with the whole class: + Where will you be at this weekend? + I think I’ll be - Let student repeat pattern sentence - Pair by pair drill with structure in the book - Asking some question to check the comprehension of the lesson - Teacher remark and correct - Go through the task with the rest of the characters in the same way. Lesson 1: (4, 5, 6) I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: - Use the words and phrases related to the topic Future activities - Ask and answer questions about where someone will be - Develop speaking and reading skills II. Language focus: Pattern: Where will you be ? I think I’ll be Voc.: prepositions of place: on. in, at, by III. Teaching aids: Pictures, textbook, projector IV. Procedure: 4. Listen and tick. * Ask the students open the book on page 31. - Get pupils to look at the pictures and tell the purpose of listening. - Listen and tick the correct picture in each number. - Elicit pupils’ answers e.g. What do you see in the pictures of number 1and 2? Who are they? What are they doing? - Using English and Vietnamese when necessary. - Ask pupils should make guesses based on the pictures and contextual clues as they listen. * Play the recording three times: the first for pupils to listen all the way through and the second for them to do the task. Pause after each part for them to tick the picture. - Ask pupils share guess answers before listening and correct answers after listening in pairs and report their answers to the class. - Teacher writes the whole answers from students on the board then replay the recording the third to check their correct answers. - Give some question. Why you choose that answer. - Teacher remark and correct. *After listening: Asking students look at the pictures and retell the content of the listening lesson. Aim is to check their understanding and consolidate language knowledge. 5. Read and match. * Make sure pupils understand the task. - Have a brief discussion about the pictures and elicit pupils’ answers: How many sentences are there in each column?
- - Teacher models the first example. * Individual work. Pupils look members in the picture, read and write the appreciate words to complete the sentences. * Set time and move around the classroom to monitor the activity. - Ask the students share their result follow pairs. - Let some students write their answer on the board. Point to each child and elicit their answers to identify him/ her. * Play the recording twice: once for pupils to listen all the way through and once for them to do the task. Pause after each line for them to repeat a few times. *Replay the recording for class to sing along. - Divide the class into groups. Each group sings a line without music. - Group work - Call on a group to sing the song in front of the class * Suggest pupils replace the names in the song with their two friends. Then sing their revised song. 7. Homelink: - Make the list about the members in your class to drill the question and answer: What’s your name? and How old are you?
