  1. Tuesday, October 24, 2023 UNIT 5: WHERE WILL YOU BE THIS WEEKEND? Lesson 2: Part (1, 2, 3) I. OBJECTIVES 1. identify the situations for the conversations between Linda and Nam (setting, participants, topics);(cognition) 2. ask and answer question about what someone will do, using What will you do at Ha long Bay? LEARNING EXPERIENCES Warm up Check the old lesson: Play the game: can you guess? 1. Look, listen and repeat. - Asking the students open the book page 32. - Focus their attention on the title of the unit, pictures and the texts. - Get pupils to read the title of the unit and elicit their answers such as: Who are they? Where ? What are they doing? - Praise pupils if they give a correct answer. Then ask pupils to discuss what is happening in each picture. - Recall the familiar vocabulary and teach the new words: + take a boat trip around the island: đi du lịch bằng tàu thủy xung quanh đảo. + build sandcastles:xây lâu đài cát. - Write the new vocabulary on the board and get pupils to say the words a few times. - Read each line in the pictures and check pupils’ comprehension at times. - Using English and Vietnamese when necessary. * Make sure that pupils can understand the situation and language. Play the recording twice: once for pupils to listen all the way through and once for them repeat. Pause after each line for them to repeat a few times. * Divide the class into groups to take turns to say the lines from picture a and b. 2. Point and say. - Asking student elicit the model sentence in the dialogue. - Run pictures - Asking the student look at the members in the picture. - Elicit their prompts to complete the text in the speech bubbles.

Wrap-up & Assignments - Ask students to answer the following questions: 1. What have you learnt from the lesson today? (Use the words and phrases related to the topic Future activities, Ask and answer questions about what someone will do.) 2.What are the core values of the lesson? Listen and number . * Ask the students open the book on page 33 - Get pupils to look at the pictures and tell the purpose of listening. - Listen and number in each picture. - Elicit pupils’ answers e.g. Who do you see in the pictures? Where will they be? What will they do? - Using English and Vietnamese when necessary. - Ask pupils should make guesses based on the pictures and contextual clues as they listen. * Play the recording three times: the first for pupils to listen all the way through and the second for them to do the task. Pause after each part for them to number the picture. - Ask pupils share guess answers before listening and correct answers after listening in pairs and report their answers to the class. - Teacher writes the whole answers from students on the board then replay the recording the third to check their correct answers. - Give some questions. Why you choose that answer. - Teacher remark and correct. *After listening: Asking students look at the pictures and retell the content of the listening lesson. Aim is to check their understanding and consolidate language knowledge. 5. Write about you. * Get pupils to look at two questions and tell the purpose of the task. * Make sure pupils understand the task. - Have a brief discussion about vocabulary in the box. - Repeat those words some time. - Ask the students skim the sentences then scan each sentence before completing the sentence. * Individual does the task. * Set time and move around the classroom to monitor the activity. - Ask the students share their result follow pairs. - Let some students tick their answer on the board. Others look and give comments. - Teacher correct and explain if it’s necessary - Ask the whole class read again to drill pronunciation, phonic. Correct false about pronunciation, phonic. * Consolidation - Give some questions to check their comprehension. - Ask some student retell the reading by speaking or writing at home. 6. Let’s play. -T tell ss that they are going to play the game Questions and answers. -T prepare pieces of paper on which some places are written ( in the mountains, by the sea, on the beach) then put them into the box.
  4. - T make ss into groups of three. Invite two groups to the front of the class. Group 1 should draw a piece of paper from the bo and say We’ll be at/in/by Group 2 should ask what will you do there? Grou1 answer we’ll after that, thw two groups swap their roles. When thay finish, invite other groups to continue the game. The group that can not answer the question correctly is out. The game ends when only one group is left and they’re the winner. 7. Homelink. Write about name of members in the family. Thursday, October 26, 2023 UNIT 5: WHERE WILL YOU BE THIS WEEKEND? Lesson 3: Part (1, 2, 3) I. Say a chant “ Where will you be this weekend?” in interesting way. 3. love the beauty of Viet Nam and be proud of it by using positive attitude and appropriate gestures and intonation when asking and answering questions about what they will do. LEARNING EXPERIENCES Warm up: Chatting with ps Then listen What did you do on Teacher’s day? Song. 1. Look, listen and repeat. - Introduce the pronounce two- and three - syllable words with the stress on the fisrt syllable. - Ss learn to produce the sound of the letters: 'seaside, 'islands,’countryside. - Listen the CD and repeat the words & sentences in chorus. - Read in groups/ in pairs. - Give out and check. - Guide Ss produce the sound of the letters. - Check and corect. 2. Listen and circle a or b. Then say your sentences aloud. - Give tasks. - Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary.
  5. - Read the sentences in silence before listening the recording to do the task. - Swap and compare their answers in pairs before checking as a class. - 3- 4 Ss read out all words. The rest of the class observe and give comments. - Check and correct. 3. Let’s chant - Introduce the Chant : Where will you be this weekend? - Ss listen to the tape & read the chant line by line. - Ss practise chanting: one chants the questions and the other chants the answers. - Ss practise chanting and doing actions. - 2 groups to say the chant and do actions. The rest of the class claps along to the rhythm. 4. Wrap-up & Assignments - Ask students to answer the following questions: 1. What have you learnt from the lesson today? OBJECTIVES: After the lesson, students are able to: 1. identify specific information through listening to conversations about what they will do on the weekend. 2. identify the specific information by scanning the text about Mai’s plant for next Sunday; 3. write about Ss’ future activities. 4. interview their classmates about their next weekend; 5. show great pride in the beauty of the country and great respect for other people’s holidays by using appropriate gestures and intonation when asking and answering about their future activities. II. LANGUAGE FOCUS.
