Correct pronunciation, if necessary. -Ask Ss to work in pairs or in groups to practise introducing things to each other, saying “It’s a red ____.” Give further support to those Ss who find it difficult to do the task. -Select some pairs of Ss to practise introducing things to each other in front of the class. *Outcome: improve speaking skill with sentence pattern: It’s a red _____. Competences: - Identify the letters i and e and the sounds they have learnt - Identify some learnt words bell, pen, pencil, red, chips and fish. - Say the sounds and words with correct pronunciation. 3. Attitude: -Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students; love learning English II. TEACHING AIDS: - Pictures, E- book, computer, projector, pictures, recording. III. PROCEDURE: Activity 1: Warm up:5’ *Aim: help ss to be eager and happy to begin the new lesson. *Procedure: -Stick some flashcards including some pictures of the words from Unit 5 and 6 on the board. Have Ss play Kim’s game in three minutes. Activity 2. Circle and match. Then say. 13’ *Aim: help Ss to identify some learnt words (chicken, chips, fish, milk, bell, pen, pencil and red ) and say them with correct pronunciation. *Procedure: -Ask Ss to look at the picture and the line of letters. Explain how to do the task, saying Look at the pictures and the line of letters. Circle the words in the line, then match them with the correct pictures. If necessary, ask one or two Ss to repeat what they have to do -Have Ss look at the pictures and say what they see first. -Model one word with the class. Ask Ss to circle the words in the line individually and match the words with the pictures. Give further support to those Ss who find it difficult to do the task. - Have Ss exchange their answers in pairs. Then call some Ss to show their work. Give comments and confirm the correct answers. -Get Ss to work in pairs or groups, to point to the words and say the words until they feel confident. Correct pronunciation, if necessary. -Call a few Ss to say the words in front of the class.. *Outcome: identify some learnt words (chicken, chips, fish, milk, bell, pen, pencil and red) and say them with correct pronunciation. Activity 3.Let’s play. Air drawing. 14’ *Aim: help Ss identify the letters i and e and the sounds /i/ and /e/. *Procedure: -Have Ss work in two big groups (A and B). Have them look at the picture. Tell them that you will draw one letter in the air with your finger. The first pupil of each team that correctly identifies what you have drawn scores a point. -Model the first time with the Ss so that they can understand how to play.
- -Have the whole class play the game several times before they compete. -Divide the class into two teams. Call one or two Ss to be the observers of the game. Use all the letters Ss have learnt (I and E), both upper and lower case. Ask them what word is missing in the gap (Open). Then have them complete the sentence (Open your book, please!). Step 4: Follow the same procedure with Pictures 2, 3 and 4. Step 5: Have pupils complete the sentences individually and ask a few pupils to read them aloud Game: Slap the board. - Divide the class into four teams. - Stick the pictures of activities on the board. - Activity 6. Let’s play. 8 minutes Step 1: Put pupils into groups of 5 or 6. Choose one pupil from each group as a person who gives instructions for the rest of the group to act out. Step 2: Model by saying: Stand up, please! Pupils respond to this instruction by standing up. Step 3: Have groups play the game. One pupil in each group gives instructions for his / her group to act out. Explain that pupils who perform the wrong action are out of the game. Step 4: The winning group is the one that has the highest number of members left at the end of the game. Game: Matching game Use pictures and flashcards, get 3 pupils to hold the pictures and 3 more to hold the sentences. Ask them to find and match. Praise the ones who finish the matching. Then ask the class to look and say aloud. Fun corner and wrap-up: 5 minutes Option 1: Using sachmem.vn, have pupils look at the words in the pictures of Lesson 1 and repeat after the recordings. Option 2: Game: Sentence Puzzle Divide the class into groups of four. Give each group a sentence that is broken/cut into pieces. Ask them to arrange them to make a complete sentence, then read it aloud. The group that makes it first will be the winner. Option 3: Catch the butterflies - Divide the class into 2 teams. - Each team chooses one butterfly to go to the question. - Have pupils look, read and choose the right option. - Back to the menu for another question. - Pupils take turns to play until they catch all the butterflies. - The one who gets the most butterflies is the winner.
